This began as a plein air painting at the historic Bartlett Carry - the place where 19th century visitors to the Adirondacks carried their canoes or guidebooks from Upper Saranac Lake to Middle Saranac Lake. However, because of the size, I couldn't finish in all in one day and it ended up taking a lot of studio work. It's as typical an Adirondack day as one could wish for! Look for the bald eagle - it was really there while I was painting.
