Artist Comments

Plein air painting done from my car while watching a herd of about 300 elk outside of Telluride, CO. I was participating in the Telluride Plein Air Festival in July 2014. Every evening the elk came out into the valley below the village. I watched this little fellow wander around, seemingly alone, and managed to get a quick, painted sketch done of him. Hopefully he had a mother somewhere.

Included in "Close Encounters of the Wild Kind", featured artist exhibit for August 2015, Adirondack Artists Guild Gallery, 52 Main St., Saranac Lake, NY.
