"Water & Rocks Mandala"
Oil on Linen, 60 x 40", 2005

water + rocks
It has been said that waterfalls create something like positive ions in the air - which make people feel good. I know I can sit and let myself get visually lost in the cascades and trickles of a waterfall, totally absorbed by the various sounds of rushing water. This painting features 3 of my favorite falls: the amazing Stone Valley of the Raquette River, between Colton and Hannawa Falls; Beaver Meadow Falls - deep in the High Peaks, encountered when descending the trail from Gothics; and the beautiful Bog River Falls, where the river tumbles into Tupper Lake.
